Frequently Asked Questions

Free Tours in Madrid are guided walking tours based on the collaboration between the company and the visitor. We seek the highest quality and entertainment in the visit through free contribution by the visitor (the visitor pays what he/she considers fair). It is advisable to reserve a place to ensure the presence of the guide for the route, time and day selected.

What makes us different is our commitment to quality. Our guides are trained and prepared to guide you through the city in the most complete and entertaining way possible. We can also help you book your trips within Spain, to cities like Toledo and Segovia, and recommend the best places to enjoy the city.

All our guided tours are offered in Spanish. In addition, our basic tours of Madrid (Madrid Básico, Madrid Monumental and El Museo del Prado) are also offered in English. We recommend that you look at each of these tours for the days and times when these tours are available in English. Private tours in other languages can also be arranged. Contact us if you are interested at EMAIL.

Depending on the day, we have different schedules that can be compatible with each other. You can do up to 3 different tours in a single day. For example, on Fridays you can do the Basic Tour or the Barrio de las Letras in the morning, the Legends of Madrid Tour in the afternoon and the Mysteries and Enigmas of the City tour in the evening.

For logistical reasons, we recommend that you make your reservation before the visits and arrive on time at the meeting point. In any case, you can join any of our routes as long as they are in their initial phase.

Our meeting point is at the Puerta del Sol in Madrid, next to the statue of the bear and the strawberry tree (the coat of arms of our city). Look for us with our yellow umbrellas! You can see the meeting point when you book your tour.

All tours last approximately 2 hours. Our basic tours (Madrid Básico, Madrid Monumental and Museo del Prado) may take a little longer, as they are very complete.

You can see the meeting point and all relevant tour information, including a description of each tour here:

Each of our free tours ends in different places, since our guides are free to adapt it to their knowledge and the interest of the public. However, at the beginning of the guided tour, if you have any doubts about the stops and where it ends, ask your guide, who will be happy to answer.

Likewise, at the end of the route, if you have any questions about the location or want any recommendations, ask our guides.

Even so, here is a list of the points in the city where visits usually end:

Yes, tours go out even in bad weather. However, we recommend that you take the necessary precautions to face it, such as carrying an umbrella, appropriate footwear, sunscreen, etc. In case the weather makes it completely impossible to carry out the guided tour, Trip Tours Madrid will cancel the tour as soon as possible.

Yes, our Free Tours depart on holidays. On days when we do not conduct any guided tours for any major reason, reservations will not be allowed through our website.

Of course it is! Our guides are trained to adapt the guided tours to the youngest visitors without detriment to the adults. So we will be happy for you to bring your children, nieces, nephews or younger siblings to the Free Tours.

All our guided tours are available for wheelchairs and strollers. In the case of Free Tour at the Prado Museum, please let us know in case there is one of the two during the tour, since the entrance place will depend on it.

Yes. However, to make a tour with a group of more than 10 people, we require a previous reservation, so that a special guide can be assigned to you. We do this because our Free Tours are designed for small groups, for the convenience of all visitors.

It is not necessary to make a reservation to join the free tours. However, it is highly recommended that you do so, so that we know how many people will be attending the guided tour and we can decide how many guides will be needed for each group. In addition, there is a possibility that you and your group may be the only ones attending the guided tour, and if there is no reservation, we will have no way of knowing that there is anyone attending and it is likely that our guide will not be communicated and will not attend the meeting point.

You can book our freetours in Madrid as far in advance as you want, we recommend to check our calendar to confirm availability.

If you have booked any of our free tours in Madrid, you can modify or delete the reservation whenever you want by sending us an email, whatsapp or calling us to our contact phone number. We ask that you do so as far in advance as possible in order to have the places available for your modification.

We do not share your information with anyone. We request your contact information for the reservation in order to confirm the realization of the FreeTour and to be able to contact you in case of any incident prior to the tour. Once the visit has been made, some services (TripAdvisor or FreeTour.com) automatically send an email to invite you to leave a comment on the internet, however, we remove your data from our database 7 calendar days after the tour.

If you cannot make a reservation on our website, it is probably because we are full for that guided tour. However, sometimes there are system failures beyond our control that do not allow reservations even when there is space. For that reason, we recommend that, in case you are unable to make a reservation, you write us by email, whatsapp or call us by phone to confirm that this is the case.

You are under no obligation to leave us a comment. However, it is very useful for us and for future visitors to know your experience with us and your opinion about our Free Tours, to improve in case you have any criticism and to promote us when you leave us a favorable opinion.
