Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, phone or tablet) when you visit triptoursmadrid.com. They let us remember your preferences, measure the site's performance and analyse, in aggregate, how the website is used. This policy explains which cookies we use, why, and how you can manage them.
Categories of cookies we use
We group cookies into three categories according to their purpose:
- Technical cookies (necessary): essential for the basic operation of the site, booking attribution and the booking widget. They always load and do not require your consent.
- Analytics cookies: let us measure, anonymously and in aggregate, how the website is used so we can improve it. They are optional and require your consent.
- Marketing cookies: used to measure conversions and personalise advertising campaigns. They are optional and require your consent.
Technical cookies (necessary)
These are essential and always active, with no option to disable them from the banner:
- ttm_cookie_consent (Trip Tours Madrid): stores your cookie choice so we do not ask you again. It is kept in your browser's local storage (localStorage) for 12 months. No consent required.
- aid (Trip Tours Madrid): records the partner or affiliate who referred you (for example, GuruWalk) so your booking is attributed correctly. A first-party cookie lasting 30 days, with the SameSite=Lax and Secure attributes. No consent required, as it is necessary for booking attribution.
- _GRECAPTCHA (Google reCAPTCHA): set by Google to protect our contact forms against bots and spam (reCAPTCHA v3), analysing browsing behaviour to tell humans from bots. It is a necessary security cookie and does not require consent; its lifetime is set by Google (typically up to 6 months).
- Ventrata cookies (Ventrata): required for the booking widget to work. They load when you start a booking, on the legal basis of the performance of a contract (Article 6.1.b GDPR), regardless of your cookie preferences.
Analytics cookies
These require your consent. Thanks to Google Consent Mode v2, Google Analytics 4 does not store these cookies until you accept them:
- _ga (Google Analytics): an anonymous identifier used to tell visitors apart. Lasts up to 2 years. Requires consent.
- _ga_MZDX4LYF0K (Google Analytics): keeps the Google Analytics 4 session state. Lasts up to 2 years. Requires consent.
Marketing cookies
These require your consent and only activate if you accept this category:
- _fbp (Meta / Facebook Pixel): measures the effectiveness of advertising and Meta conversions. Lasts around 90 days. Requires consent.
- _gcl_au (Google Ads): attributes conversions to Google Ads campaigns. Lasts around 90 days. Requires consent.
The booking widget (Ventrata)
The Ventrata booking widget always loads, regardless of your cookie preferences, because it is necessary to process your booking (legal basis: performance of a contract, Article 6.1.b GDPR). Rejecting non-essential cookies will not stop you from browsing the site or completing a booking.
Managing your consent
The first time you visit the site we show a banner with three options: "Accept all", "Reject" (keeps only the strictly necessary cookies) or "Customise" your choice by category. We keep your decision for 12 months; after that period, or if we update this policy, we will ask you again.
You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" button in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies from your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Edge), although some site features may stop working.
